We are looking for an experienced and well rounded Web Developer to join our team in Melbourne.

You are an expert at building fast, error free, mobile-first and responsive websites that meet industry standards:

• Strong ability to write sematic HTML without a framework
• Strong ability to write CSS without a preprocessor
• Strong ability to work with JS without a framework
• Mobile first, responsive sites every time
• Passing industry standard tests first time (e.g. W3C, Lighthouse)
• Using a DRY approach to development
• Fast websites that load in less than 2 seconds
• Page caching and minimisation, where appropriate

You are able to apply SEO best practice when developing a site:

• Understands and applies core SEO principles
• Proper use of SEO meta tags (Title, description)
• Proper use of on-page SEO attributes (H tags, links, image alt text)
• Passing industry standard tests first time (Lighthouse, Silktide)

You are able to develop and manage code in a professional way:

• Properly using partials and reusable code to minimise effort
• Cleaning up a code base progressively, removing unused code and comments and ensuring a clean codebase is left for others
• Working with git via the command line including branching, merging, pull requests and tagging

Nice to have

• Experience working with Foundation
• Experience working with Liquid or other templating languages
• Ability to write unit tests using Cypress or other automated testing tools

• You are able to learn new frameworks and methodologies
• You ensures that all activity personally completed is reportable, generates revenue and is profitable
• You are able to meet objectives and manage workload without needing pressure from others
• You are proactive at keeping to deadlines, knowingly when to ask for help and raising with management when an deadline won't be met
• You can communicate clearly with peers and management in verbal and written methods, using a strong grasp of the English language
• You are able to decide which tasks need to be completed immediately, and which tasks can be postponed to a later time
• You are motivated for personal development and keeps up to date with changing standards, technology and practices required to complete their role

• Junior Web Developer - 1 to 2 Years
• Web Developer - 2 to 5 Years
• Senior Web Developer - 5 Years or more
